Winter Romp Prerun – December 10-11, 2011. I forgot my camera bag at the office, but the iPhone 4S rescued me nicely. The trails were all in excellent shape with minimal trail maintenance. We were able to prerun all Winter Romp trails in two days. Thanks to Bruce for hosting us once again. Here’s a video of me on the Rock Crawling Trail.
I attended the November 5-6, 2011 Cycle-Smart cyclocross race held at Look Park, Northampton, MA with my friend Peter Vollers and his Killington Mountain School Cycling Team. If you’ve never been to a cyclocross race, you should definitely check one out. They’re a lot more fun for the spectator than a road race because you get to watch the racers from many different areas of the course. There are multiple laps, so you also get to see them hit the different obstacles many times. The food was great too!
Another video shot exclusively with the iPhone 4S. It’s really amazing to have HD video recording capability with me at all times. Music: Old Bear – Toss a Coin.
Wow! I am thoroughly impressed with the iPhone 4S! The video quality is amazing! I found it to be best when the camera is held relatively still. The Apple image stabilization does an excellent job keeping the video looking steady. However walking on uneven terrain, or any shaking of the camera does produce jittery looking video. These clips are straight out of the phone with no modifications. On the photo side, the dynamic range is much improved over my iPhone 3GS. Photos were edited in Lightroom with very minor adjustments.
